My main argument

My main argument against pay per click advertising and for fixed daily rate advertising is that hyperlinks on the Internet are free and users should not pay for using it.

Both advertising methods employs a bidding system. The advertiser who are prepared to pay the highest price for a keyword or the highest daily rate for his ad, he's ad will be displayed first at the top of the search result.

With pay per click advertsing, ads are targeted at users who enter specific keywords on search engines. When the user responds and click on the ad, the advertiser is charged a fee for the traffic.

With fixed daily rate advertising, the advertiser pays a fixed daily rate for a specific period of time only and not for the amount of times users click through on his ad. In this case the ad can also be keyword targeted.

PandaLabs has detected a network of computers infected with the bot Clickbot.A, which is being used to defraud ‘pay per click’ systems, registering clicks automatically and providing lucrative returns for the creators.

According to the data collected so far, the scam is exploiting a global network comprising more than 34,000 zombie computers (those infected by the bot).The bots are controlled remotely through several Web servers.

This allows the perpetrators to define, for example, the web pages on which the adverts are hosted or the maximum number of clicks from any one IP address in order not to arouse suspicions. Similarly, the number of clicks from the bot can be monitored as well as the computers online at any one time.

Overture Pay Per Click

I've tried Overture Pay Per Click for the last month now but the thing that strikes me is I have no way of tracking sales per keyword. I have affiliate software which *could* do this but it would mean an affliate account for each keyword/phrase which would be ludicrous bearing in mind I am experimenting with about 20 to 30 keyword phrases and possibly looking at other Pay Per Click engines. Is there a recommended script that will do this (free or otherwise). What I'm looking for is software/script that will tell me Overture made a total of X in Y month, with a breakdown of each keyword/phrase sales. Any suggestions?
